Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SK7 Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Habit Pact mobile application (“Pact”, the “App”). If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

Who we are

Habit Pact is a habit-tracking app that lets you build habits on your own or together with friends. It is published by SK7 Ltd. For the purposes of the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are the “data controller” of your personal data.

Information we collect

We only collect what the App needs to work and to help us understand how it is used. We do not use third-party advertising, and we do not sell your personal data.

• Account information — basic details such as your email address and display name, provided by you when you sign up or by Google if you choose “Sign in with Google”, together with identifiers we generate so the App and your friends can recognise your account.
• Content and activity in the App — the habits you create and your related progress and activity.
• Social information — information needed to support the App's social features, such as your connections with other users and the content you choose to share or exchange with them.
• Usage and analytics information — information about how you interact with the App, such as screens viewed and actions taken (for example creating or completing a habit), collected through Google Analytics for Firebase to help us understand and improve the App. This consists of usage events, app and device information, and a pseudonymous analytics identifier — it does not include your habit names, messages, or other content you create.
• Technical information — limited device information needed to run the App and deliver notifications, such as a push notification token provided by Google Firebase Cloud Messaging.

We do not intentionally collect special-category data (such as health diagnoses). Please keep in mind that content you create is visible to friends you share a habit with, so avoid putting sensitive information in anything you share.

Where your data is stored

• Some data is stored locally on your device so the App works offline.
• Data is also stored in the cloud using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) and synced across your devices and with friends you share habits with. Cloud data is hosted on Google's infrastructure.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

• create and secure your account and sign you in;
• store, sync, and display your habits and progress across your devices;
• power social features — friend requests, shared habits, and chat between members;
• send you habit reminders and friend-activity notifications (see “Notifications” below);
• understand how the App is used and measure and improve its features, using aggregated and pseudonymous analytics;
• operate, maintain, debug, and improve the App; and
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

Legal bases (EEA/UK users)

Where GDPR applies, we rely on these legal bases:

• Performance of a contract — to provide the App's core functionality you request (accounts, habit sync, sharing).
• Legitimate interests — to keep the App secure, prevent abuse, and improve the service, in a way that does not override your rights.
• Consent — for device push notifications, and for analytics where consent is required (you can withdraw either at any time — notifications in your device settings, analytics via the in-app privacy setting).
• Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose data by law.

How your information is shared

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only as follows:

• With other users you choose to interact with. When you add a friend or share a habit, those users can see your display name, user code, shared-habit content, your completion activity in that habit, and your chat messages there.
• With service providers (processors). We use Google Firebase for authentication, cloud database/sync (Cloud Firestore), push notifications (Cloud Messaging), and usage analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase), and Google Sign-In for optional login. Google processes this data on our behalf. See Google's Privacy Policy, and how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
• App stores. Apple and Google may collect information related to app downloads and in-app activity under their own policies.
• For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or us.
• Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred, subject to this policy.

International data transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country, including in the United States, by Google. Where required, such transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards (for example, the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses).

Data retention

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active. When you delete a habit or your account, we remove the associated records from our active systems; deletion may propagate through backups and sync mechanisms over a reasonable period. Some minimal records may be retained where required by law.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• correct inaccurate data (you can edit your profile and habits in the App);
• delete your data (you can delete habits, and request deletion of your account);
• object to or restrict certain processing;
• data portability;
• opt out of analytics at any time via the in-app privacy setting; and
• withdraw consent (e.g. turn off notifications) at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, or to request account deletion, email us at support@pactwithfriends.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

California residents: we do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

Notifications

The App can send:

• Local reminders scheduled on your device for your habits; and
• Push notifications about friend activity, delivered via Google Firebase Cloud Messaging.

You can turn notifications off at any time in your device's system settings.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and access controls on our cloud database. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
